Drednaw has never been much of a powerhouse and as a result, this Water/Rock Pokemon hasn’t seen much play. However, with the introduction of Scarlet and Violet’s Tera mechanic, you might be able to find some new uses for Drednaw.

Drednaw Strategy
The main focus of this build is maximizing the potential of Drednaw’s signature Jaw Lock move. Jaw Lock has 80 base power, 100 accuracy, and prevents the opponent from switching out, which means that they’re stuck with your angry snapping turtle. Now, 80 power might not seem like enough, but Strong Jaw boosts that to 120! The biggest downside to Drednaw’s signature move is that it couldn’t benefit from STAB, which was a huge bummer. However, now Drednaw’s Jaw Lock can be STAB by utilizing a Dark Tera type.
If you wanted more power, you could slap a Choice Band on this turtle, but this particular build uses a Rindo Berry, to protect against Drednaw’s 4x Ice weakness. If you play on exclusively using Drednaw only for his Tera type, then the Rindo Berry is obviously not necessary. But I feel like it can help offer some flexibility in case you find yourself needing to Terastallize one of your other Pokemon. For some extra bulkiness, you could also take advantage of Assault Vest. This decision is ultimately up to you and how you want Drednaw to fit into your team.
The rest of the moveset is pretty straightforward. You’ll want to use Ice Fang to take advantage of Strong Jaw, and Ice moves are still pretty valuable this generation. And of course, Liquidation and Stone Edge will be your two standard hard-hitting STAB moves.
